Rajaram Dattatray Paranjape was born on April 20th, 1910, the eldest child of Dattatray and Aautai Paranjape in Miraj, a town in Sangli District of Maharashtra.
His father owned a prosperous business of building construction in Pune and Raja Paranjape developed a taste for classical music and theater in his early years.
As a child, Raja Paranjape grew in Pune considered to be the centre of learning, arts & culture. He completed his schooling in Pune but was inclined more towards theater during his formative years.
